Mission: To design and prototype a simple machine to load, align and install sections of HPGX pipe

into boreholes oriented at varying degrees of inclination and azimuth.

Analysis:

     Crush Test- Tested two inch and six inch sections. The two inch sections showed signs of deformation under a load between 200-300 lbf. The six inch section was able to withstand the compression test up to 1000 lbf under a periodic load and unload.

                Torque Test- A torque test was constructed using some string, a bowling bag and numerous weights to test the amount of force needed to thread the pipe together. From the force needed the horsepower for the motor can be determined.
